Parents would be able to read and see photographic evidence about what their child has done during their time at school as these are given to parents.

Homework and Communication Diaries

We will provide each student with a communication booklet. These will be filled in daily by class teachers to inform parents of events during that day. Homework will be written down with dates of completion indicated clearly. Parents may also use them to keep in touch with their child’s teacher. Parents are to ensure that their child’s communication book is duly signed as required and returned to school daily.

Homework Policy at Goldstake Academy

We will be assigning homework because we believe it is important that students begin to develop good homework habits in the early stages. Also, homework gives us a way to have students practice what is taught in class.

We will assign homework Monday through friday. Homework should take about 15 minutes to complete each night. Please return the homework the next school day in the folder provided. A record is kept of all homework returned on time for each child.

Please have your child use a pencil (not pen or marker) to print his/her name and all letters and numbers. ALL pictures are to be colored (with crayons only) even if the directions does not specify. Please do not use markers.

We encourage parents to assist their child in doing their homework and rewarding them for a good job done this will go a long way in motivating the child. Homework records will be kept and this will form part of their assessment at the end of the academic term.
